Director, Americas Supply Chain and Planning

Summary:

The Americas Supply Chain Planning Leader is responsible for executing the end-to-end “Plan” portion of “Plan, Source, Make, and Deliver, Service”. This includes managing from monthly planning through production to ship confirmation to achieve target service levels and cost. This is a dynamic and highly cross-functional role, working closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, IBP Team, Commercial, Finance, Logistics, IT, Product Stewardship and Data Management.

This role is also responsible for driving data-driven continuous improvement in the execution of processes and performance of the supply chain, to achieve KPI targets and enable future growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Execute the Integration Business Plan delivered from the IBP Process. Manage key transactional activities in our ERP system(s) for MRP, DRP, optimized production scheduling, receiving, work order processing and shipping.
  • Manage order fulfillment to deliver our Customer-Intimacy model. Meet agreed upon SLAs and continuously optimize the performance the extended supply chain.
  • Manage and continuously improve supply chain processes and identify process gaps/improvement areas.
  • Create annual budgets for labor, freight, 3rd party warehousing, and tolling/contract manufacturing. Manage spend to within budget.
  • Manage portfolio of suppliers and drive strategic partnerships with Contract Manufacturers, 3rd party warehouses, and freight providers.
  • Manage inventory health to maximize saleable inventory and recover the maximum value from problem inventory.
  • Lead the Supply Chain workstream in M&A projects from Due Diligence through post-merger integration to enable strategic acquisitive growth.
  • Participate in the optimization of the supply chain network design with the IBP Team and execute the optimal designs.
  • Develop and implement contracts supported by Procurement to deliver the best solutions for regional (1) freight contracts, (2) packaging contracts, (3) warehousing contracts, (4) tolling/contract manufacturing contracts and (5) other logistics services to balance cost and service.
  • Lead people in accordance with the company’s Core Values and develop the strategic capabilities of the organization. Manage direct reports according Quaker Houghton standards and values, including goal setting, performance reviews, development planning, and compensation.
  • Travels to regional office locations.

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master degree preferred; 7+ years minimum experience in leading supply chain teams. International industrial experience in implementing supply chain concepts. Significant experience (10 + years) in working and managing supply chain projects aimed at maximizing service towards the market against the lowest possible costs. Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, S&OP/IBP process, ERP process management additional education in process improvement. APICS and Lean/Six Sigma certificates are desired.
