Site Manager II

Department: Fluidcare
Location: Manitowoc, WI


Position Summary:

Specialty chemicals manufacturer, Houghton International Inc., the world leader in industrial fluids providing both high-tech fluid products and fluid management services, is seeking a highly organized, detail oriented Site Manager II.   This position is responsible for implementing the Houghton Fluidcare program at a customer site using technical, application and process expertise to achieve customer results. Supervision to site level teams and associates to achieve Houghton profitability, safety, and operational targets using standardized procedures and practices.


  • Directly responsible for all EH&S performance for all Houghton related operations. 
  • Ensures all HI operations and procedures are maintained and followed. 
  • Build and Maintain Strong Professional Relationships with the Plant Manager, Controller, TCM Champion and all other pertinent client stakeholders through formal and informal operational reviews. 
  • Provide direction and leadership at the site with respect to the SOW/contract and achieve customer expectation and targets. 
  • Duties may include: analytical testing/reporting, chemical addition, equipment cleaning, project management, value generation (meeting or exceeding guaranteed cost savings), etc. 
  • Manage on-site associates: duties to include hiring, training (safety and technical), performance management and reviews (quarterly and year end) and talent assessments 
  • Ensure all internal and client reporting (data and information management) are kept up to date and distributed within the agreed upon timeframe. 
  • Internal reports will utilize JDE, GSI, WERCS, etc.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Science preferred and a minimum 3 years of related work experience, including at least 1 year of management/supervisory experience required.
  • The candidate must also possess outstanding problem solving, conflict resolution abilities, proven negotiation skillfulness and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Metalworking Fluids, Metal Finishing, and Industrial Lubrication is preferred.
  • Experience in leading Six-Sigma projects, Green Belt level preferred.
  • CMFS certification a plus.


  • Minimum 5 years related work experience, including at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
